Your corner
of the internet.
A place online that is actually yours: agents, company brain, files, notes, passwords, all living on one server
nobody else shares. We provision it and keep it running. What you put in your corner stays yours.
No lock-in, by design.
Why ownership matters
Your data shouldn't live on someone else's terms.
Most of the software you rely on lives on someone else's infrastructure, under someone else's terms. Moose puts it on a machine you control, where what's yours stays yours.
Your data, your rules
What runs on your server stays yours. You own the machine, so you set the terms; we just keep it running.
Take it with you
Start in our cloud, then move the whole stack onto hardware of your own when it suits you. Same software, same data, same configuration, just your box under your roof.
Open and auditable
The OS is open source. You can verify what runs on your server, inspect the code, and take everything with you the day you decide to leave.
How it works
One server. Your apps. We handle the rest.
Moose provisions a complete server for you, not a slice of a shared one. Install the apps you need from the marketplace. We keep the plumbing running.
One server per account
A whole virtual machine with your name on it, running your apps and your data only. The kind of machine you could physically walk away with.
Apps from the marketplace
Photos, files, notes, password manager, bookkeeping, project tools: install what you need from a curated catalog. Uninstall without losing your files; your data stays in place.
Managed for you
We handle provisioning, DNS, TLS certificates, backups, and updates. You use your apps.
The cost of renting vs. owning
You're already paying for all of this. Separately.
Every SaaS tool you subscribe to has to price in their R&D, marketing, sales, and profit margin. You pay for their whole business, five or ten times over. Moose runs the open-source equivalents at compute-cost-plus. One bill instead of ten.
A typical SaaS stack
- Cloud storage (Dropbox, Drive) $12/mo
- Photo storage (iCloud, Google One) $10/mo
- Password manager (1Password) $8/mo
- Notes (Notion) $10/mo
- Project tool $10/mo
Per user. Every month. With prices that creep up.
The same apps on Moose
- File sync (Nextcloud) FREE
- Photo management (Immich) FREE
- Passwords (Vaultwarden) FREE
- Notes (Memos) FREE
- Project tool (Kanboard) FREE
One plan. No per-user multiplier. No storage tiers. No bill that creeps up.
No lock-in
Start in our cloud. Move to your own hardware whenever you want.
Set up your server
Create an account. A server is provisioned for you with a name.onmoose.io address, a wildcard TLS certificate, and a working app store. No OS to install, no DNS to configure.
Run your apps
Install what you need from the marketplace. Your data lives in ordinary folders you can browse yourself. We handle updates, backups, and monitoring. You just use your apps.
Move it when you're ready
Moving your data to your own hardware: the two machines connect directly and everything
transfers securely between them, apps and data included.

Reasons to believe
Don't take our word for it. Verify.
Open source
The OS is open source and auditable. You can inspect what runs on your server, fork it, or run your own build.
Yours to open or close
Reach your apps from anywhere over TLS, gated to you by default. Fine-grained access controls are on the way, so you decide what's shared and what stays private.
Files first-class
Your photos sit in folders you can open, copy, and back up yourself. Uninstall the app and the files are still there, exactly where they were.
Curated catalog
A hand-picked catalog of open-source apps, each one packaged so it works on the first try. We add to it regularly.
Questions
Common questions
How is this different from Cloudron or PikaPods?
Those are multi-tenant platforms where your apps share infrastructure with other users. Moose gives you a complete virtual machine that is yours alone. That means the whole thing can move to your own hardware, because the cloud artifact and the bare-metal artifact are the same. No other hosted self-hosting platform can honestly promise that.
What does "moving out" actually mean?
You stand up Moose somewhere else, a mini PC at home, a VPS you rent directly, a colo box you own, and the two machines connect and hand everything over: your files, your installed apps, and their configuration. Nothing to download, unpack, or restore by hand. This is coming soon; it is not available yet.
Can I really move to my own hardware?
That's the design: the cloud build and the bare-metal build share the same architecture, so your corner can pick up and move. The move itself is coming soon, and we'll say so plainly here the day it ships.
Is my data safe on a server I don't physically own?
Your server is a virtual machine of your own, running in a European datacenter (Hetzner), the same infrastructure trusted by thousands of businesses, and the whole machine is yours. We never log into your box or touch your data; we keep it running and stay out of what's on it. And because the whole stack is portable, you can take it to your own hardware the day you'd rather host it yourself.
What apps can I run?
The marketplace includes photo management (Immich), file sync (Nextcloud), password managers (Vaultwarden), note-taking, media servers, project tools, bookkeeping software, and more. We pick a small number of apps and make sure each one works, then add to the list regularly.
How does Moose make money?
We make money from the marketplace and from hosting. The OS is free and open source; paid apps and optional hosting plans are what fund development. The architecture keeps us honest, because a stack you can pick up and run somewhere else leaves us no way to wall you in.
Want a server of your own?
Run your apps and keep your data in a corner of the internet that's yours. No lock-in, by design.
