Calibre-Web
Browse, read, and download your eBook library from any browser.
Overview
Calibre-Web is a browser-based interface for a Calibre eBook library. It keeps the library in a folder of your Documents, so your books stay portable and work alongside the desktop Calibre app without duplicating files. If the folder has no library yet, moose starts an empty one there.
Features
- Browse and search your library by title, author, series, or tag
- Read supported formats in the built-in browser reader
- Upload books and download them in the available formats, or send them to an e-reader
- Edit book metadata and organize titles into custom collections
- OPDS feed support for third-party reader apps, plus Kobo sync
Setting up
Sign in with the default account and change the password from Settings:
- Username:
admin - Password:
admin123
On the first screen, Calibre-Web asks where the library is. Enter
/moose/documents and save. To add books from the browser, turn on
uploads under Admin, Edit Basic Configuration, Feature Configuration.
Good to know
- Converting a book from one format to another is not available. It needs the full Calibre desktop program, which this app does not include. Reading, downloading, uploading, and editing metadata all work.
- Kobo sync sends books as EPUB, not the Kobo KEPUB format.
- Comic archives open in CBZ and CB7 format, but not CBR.
- Sending a book to an e-reader by email needs an outgoing mail server, which you set inside Calibre-Web under Admin, Edit Email Server Settings.
