Run Claude Code, Codex, and other AI coding CLIs in terminals that stay alive on your own server.

Overview

OpenDray is a gateway that runs AI coding CLIs, Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, or a plain shell, in terminals that keep running on this box even after you close the tab. Open the web admin, or a phone app or chat app that talks to the same gateway, and a long coding session survives a dropped connection, a phone put to sleep, or a laptop lid closed. Each session is a real project checkout with its own working directory, so an agent can read and write files, run git, and call other CLIs.

Features

  • Long-running terminal sessions for Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, and a plain shell, driven from a browser
  • Sessions keep running after you disconnect, and you can reattach later from any device
  • A REST API and a phone app companion for checking on and driving sessions away from your desk
  • Cross-session memory (keyword search built in; add your own embedding endpoint for semantic search)
  • Project notes, skills, and MCP server registries shared across sessions

Setting up

Sign in with the username and password moose generated for this install (shown once on this app's detail page after install). Change the password from the admin settings once you are in.

Each AI CLI signs in on its own the first time you use it. Open a terminal for it and either run its own login command in the shell (for example claude login), or paste a provider API key into that provider's settings page. Whichever one you use, model usage is billed by that provider, not by moose; see the cost note below.

Good to know

OpenDray's own in-app "Update" button cannot replace the program running inside this container. moose ships a new version by updating the app itself; use moose's normal update flow instead of the in-app one.

On a home box (appliance), the phone app works only on your own network, and chat-app integrations cannot reach OpenDray until remote access ships. The web admin works everywhere you can reach the box.

Model usage through the CLIs you sign in to (Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, or a directly configured API key) is billed by that provider on your own account, not by moose. Check current pricing on the provider's own site before you start a session.
